Staff
The course draws on the professional practice, research and expertise of the academic and technical staff including: product design, furniture design, architecture and interior design, ergonomics, sustainability and environmental issues, textile design, computer aided design, interactive multimedia design, workshop practice, and design technology. A key element of the course is the critical and contextual studies programme lead by the university's professor of design research.
Academic, technical and administrative staff work closely together to support student's learning experience. Students are encouraged to get to know the whole course team and to feel able to approach any member of staff for advice and guidance.
The course is supported by a range of part-time staff who bring with them experience and issues from their own design practice.
